Our Story
Mid-Iowa Diesel Repair was founded by David Marburger, a diesel technician who started at the entry level and worked his way up to Shift Lead Technician and Service Manager for a Fortune 250 company.
Along that journey, David gained extensive technical knowledge and leadership experience — but more importantly, he developed a vision: to build a company rooted in integrity, respect, and balance for both customers and employees; a shop where relationships matter just as much as repairs.
With determination and an old service truck, David launched Mid-Iowa Diesel Repair. Shortly after opening, he and his wife learned they were expecting their first child — strengthening his commitment to build something meaningful not only for his family, but for the community around him.
The Ames community responded quickly.
By 2022, Mid-Iowa Diesel Repair hired its first employee and moved into a 1,600-square-foot shop. Continued growth and strong customer relationships led to another major step forward — expanding into a 7,000-square-foot facility off Highway 30 in Ames, Iowa.
Today, the shop employs six team members and continues to grow while maintaining strong, long-term relationships — including proudly serving the very first customer who trusted the company in 2021.
